The sold-out crowd at the Saturday, September 3rd season finale Malibu Dude Ranch Rodeo capped off a banner summer in the Milford area, not only for the thousands of area visitors, but for VetStock volunteers who set a summer fund-raising record of $30,000 for its efforts to improve the lives of the area’s former and present Armed Services men, women and families.
Founded in 2012 by Tom Ryan, Rich Diaz and Kelly Gaughan, VetStock’s sole mission is to raise funds for those area veteran’s organizations in Pike and Monroe counties and the greater Northeast PA region. Deeply committed to its motto, “Vets Helping Vets,” the non-profit VetStock only donates monies to legitimate and thoroughly-vetted veterans organizations in order to ensure that all funds raised go directly benefit veterans, their families and organizations serving veterans.
According VetStock Executor Director Tom Ryan, prior to the start of the 2016 summer season, VetStock’s volunteers had raised and donated more than $75,000; this summer’s events will put that total over the $100,000 mark. “We have been truly blessed with an amazing core of volunteers committed to our mission. Their unflagging and heartfelt efforts are improving the lives of the brave young warriors and their families who have sacrificed so much for our country. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Malibu Dude Ranch owners Allan “Doc” Detweiler and his wife Phyllis who have supported us wholeheartedly throughout their rodeo season.”
